Avoid over-sizing
Avoid over-sizing whenever possible for best skill development, especially at the intermediate and elite levels.
Why it matters
The appropriate level of support is critical to skater performance and injury prevention. Selecting a skate that is too stiff for the skater's ability and physical characteristics can seriously impede the flexibility necessary to perform and develop skating skills. It can also result in injury as the skater is unable to properly break in the skate. A skate that is too soft will result in a lack of support, impacting performance, and can lead to premature breakdown of the skates.

Beginners
As beginner skaters, the focus of your equipment should be on comfort and support with durability to take skill acquisition.

The Jackson Finesse Series is constructed from reinforced vinyl coated uppers to provide strength, support and durability. Padded felt covered tongues deliver comfort and support, and reinforced eyelets ensure durability. A stylish, maintenance free PVC sole carries riveted Mark I blades for added security.

Intermediate
At an intermediate level, your skater will require more support to enhance skill progression and injury prevention.

Ascend Series
The Ascend Series is built on the Jackson Adapted Width (AW) last, which provides a more relaxed fit, particularly through the arch, while retaining our generous toe box and excellent heel lock. Ideal for flat feet.

Fusion Series
Our Fusion skates have microfiber uppers inlaid with Swarovski crystals for a lightweight, stylish design. A U-shaped cuff pattern and adjusted back height allow maximum flexibility without losing support. Fit has been engineered to reduce pressure and provide better heel lock and stability.
Fusion Sole
The Fusion Sole is constructed from lightweight nylon composite, which is torque resistant and waterproof. A rubber inlay provides a non-slip blade mount and superior shock absorption.
Heat Moldable Fit System
Our flagship technology: we design boots to fit tight when cold. With Jackson's Heat Moldable Fit System, your Skate Technician uses heat to soften and mold the boots. As the boot cools, it retains the shape of your foot.

The Fusion Series is built using Jackson's Elite last, which provides a wider toe box to reduce pressure, and narrower heels for better heel lock and stability.
